The Basset Hound Club


The Basset Hound Club exists for the betterment of the breed and to provide activities for members and their hounds to meet on a fun, social basis. The club runs annual shows and other NZKC sanctioned events. Currently a new committee (2019) has been elected which covers the country and we meet on a regular basis to organise and plan events and to discuss other issues which affect our breed. We love to welcome new members and invite you to get in touch with our Club Secretary or our Wellington Branch Secretary.

The Basset Hound Club does have a Rescue fund available (thankfully we do not have many Bassets in need) however please contact us if there is a Basset in need of our help. 

You can also find us on New Zealand Basset Hound Club (INC) on Facebook. We love to see photos of your Bassets. Let's all start having fun and social gatherings with our favourite breed.

Club Activities and Upcoming Shows

The Club has decided to postpone the walk on April 11th due to the Covid-19 Pandemic :( 
We will reschedule in the not too distant future.


THE BASSET HOUND CLUB OF NZ (INC)

APRIL 11th - Mark your calendar for a fantastic Basset get together in Hamilton. We will be having a walk, shared lunch followed by Vet presentation on ‘General Basset Hound health’. There will be a question and answer period.

BHC Members only. New members are more than welcome and at a special half price membership signed up on the day. 😊

LOCATION: TAITUA ARBORETUM, 25 Taitua Road, Temple View, Hamilton 3289.

Meet up at 11:00am.

Dogs must be onlead. Honorary Bassets most welcome!

Bring a chair or picnic rug to sit on and of course lots of water for your pooches. Toliets are available beside the car park, along with drinking water.

DIRECTIONS: From Hamilton follow SH23 west (towards Raglan) and turn left into Howden Road, then left again into Taitua Road.
