Labrador Retrievers
From 1 June 2017 all pedigree Labrador Retriever puppies registered with Dogs NZ will have had parents health tested as follows:
  • Both parents tested for hip and elbow dysplasia.
  • Both parents holding current eye certificates from a veterinary ophthalmologist.
  • At least one parent testing clear of the DNA conditions, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA-PRCD), exercise-induced collapse (EIC) and the dilute gene (D). This means there will be no affected Dogs NZ pedigree puppies for the 3 conditions.
