Like many kiwis I grew up in the company of dogs for most of my life.  and others were 'just about" - to me it didn't really matter whose they were as I was always interested to engage with them and to know more.  My memorable dogs were for all different reasons and from that early age "selection" of my favourite dogs and breeds was instinctive and natural.  For over 35 years I have enjoyed developing that early interest which has developed into the ownership and breeding, exhibiting, training and administrating of pedigree dogs. At club level Ive been actively involved in the past with Kapi Mana Kennel Society, The Central Afghan Hound Club , Wellington Hound Association  and most recently my local club is Horowhenua Kennel Association.  

Complementary interests include an interest in canine psychology. dog training  and dog socialisation. 

Although I am deeply committed a breed level  to the  Afghan Hound I have a great interest in a wide range of other other breeds including the Saluki, Beagle GSP, Hungarian Viszla,  Irish Setter, American Cocker Spaniel, Pug, Pekinese, Whippet,Poodle to name but a few. Im hoping the time and opportunity will see this list grow even longer. 

As for conformation judging there is every thing to learn.  As there can be no short cuts  there's a long way to go and a mountain of  experience yet to gain. I am confident that I can achieve this to the best of my abilities improved which will improve with each assignment. 

Recent Shows Judged At

Since being appointed onto the Ribbon Parade Panel in 2010 I have had the opportunity to judge at approximately 30 Ribbon Parades and Open Shows  for a wide range of breeds as part of Specialist Breed, Group and All Breed NZKC affiliated Clubs.
